Myung Urso was born in South Korea. Her studies include a BA degree in Biology, an MFA degree in fiber arts from Hongik University, Seoul, Korea in 1986 and an MA degree for Museum & Gallery Management from the City University in London, England in 1995.

In 2006 she moved to the USA, settling in Rochester NY. Myung is mostly a self-trained contemporary jewelry artist and creates unique sculptural and painterly one-of-a-kind pieces using mainly fiber, paper and mixed media with precious metals.

Myung participates in numerous group exhibitions and activities in USA and abroad. Her solo exhibitions include Bauch and Lomb World Headquarters(Rochester, NY. 2011), Velvet da Vinci Gallery(San Francisco, CA. 2012, 2017) and Patina Gallery(Santa Fe, NM. 2012). She has received awards from American Craft Exposition(Chicago, IL), American Craft Show(Baltimore, MD),) Craft Boston(Boston, MA), Philadelphia Museum Art & Craft Show(Philadelphia, PA) and Smithsonian Craft Show(Washington, DC).
